SYNOPSIS:

After Flamenco, in 1995, and Tango, in 1998 – Oscar nominee for the best foreign language film -, Carlos Saura completed the trilogy on modern urban songs with Fados in 2005. After more than two years researching on the Fado, Carlos Saura took an important leap in his approximation to the musical. While using the dance as a support in the previous musicals, Iberia, Flamenco, Tango..., in Fados he made an effort regarding the argument and the image to reflect in a unique and original manner the birth of vulgar music from the docks which, in itself, is a synthesis of all the music born towards the end of the 19th Century.
